A suspect responsible for the death of a nine-year-old child in Hettipola has been arrested, police said.
The suspect, apparently was hunting in the area and had opened fire in which the child was killed.
Police said it appears that the child was hit accidentally.
The child and the grandmother had stepped out of the house after hearing of the noise and the child was hit at that time. The weapon also has been recovered.
