Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today criticized the Government for its failure to ensure the security of the public as a former Pradeshiya Sabha member was killed in the latest shooting incident.
Mr Premadasa said that the shooting incident occurred in the constituency of the Deputy Public Security Minister.
He said that public security has turned to be a major concern in the country with shooting incidents reported daily.
Shantha Mudunkotuwa, a former Pradeshiya Sabha member was shot dead while he was riding a motorcycle.
Police later said that the vehicle used by the gunman and his driver was arrested in the Thalangama area.
