Another stock of 1, 147, 770 Pfizer COVID vaccines was brought to Sri Lanka early this morning (28).
An Emirates aircraft carrying 137 boxes of the vaccine landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning. The vaccines had first been sent from the US via Amsterdam in the Netherlands and then Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The vaccines are stored at a temperature of -80 C° and were kept at the same temperature at the BIA until they were loaded onto specialised refregerated trucks belonging to the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC). The trucks then transported the vaccines to the SPC's main storage warehouse in Colombo.
