The Ministry of Defence said that over 12,000 personnel were promoted across the tri-forces.
The Sri Lanka Army saw the largest number of promotions, with 186 officers and 10,093 other ranks elevated.
The Sri Lanka Navy followed with 22 officers and 1,256 other rank personnel receiving promotions.
The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) also saw 9 officers and 868 other rank personnel rise to their next respective ranks.
In total, 217 officers and 12,217 other rank personnel were promoted across the branches of the armed forces.
