A total of 370,761 persons have obtained the AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine during the past three days, Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said today(4).
Out of 973,732 persons who have received the first dose of the above vaccine, 756,646 have now received the second dose.
However, the death toll from the virus continues to surge with seventy four (74) persons reported dead from COVID-19 on Monday increasing the total death toll from the virus to 4625 as confirmed by the Director General of Health Services last night.
Out of the deceased 48 were males and 26 were females. Majority of the deceased (56) were above 60 years old.
Another 2,423 persons were tested positive for the virus.
