With a number of demands, the Public Health Inspectors’ Union (PHIU) has chosen to go on a two-day strike on Monday (October 30) and Tuesday (October 31).
In the meanwhile, multiple state sector and provincial public service trade unions will also begin a nationwide protest campaign.
Personnel from the provincial public service sector including, Development Officers, Management Officers, Grama Niladhari Officers, Samurdhi Officers, Office Services and other employees of the Provincial Public Service sector are expected to take part.
Plans have been already made for the said protest campaign that will demand either a Rs. 20,000 allowance or a pay raise through the 2024 Budget.
