The Cabinet of Ministers have given the green light to amend penal code fines based on current finance value.
The draft bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman has been granted clearance by the Attorney General.
The Cabinet approved the resolution tabled by the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs, and Constitutional Reforms Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakse.
The decision calls for publishing the draft law in the government gazette notification and bringing it before Parliament for approval.
