Power will be interrupted for one hour today between 5 pm and 9:30 pm across the island.
The Ministry of Power announced the power cuts scheduled for today.
The powercuts, which began with an island wide outage on Sunday, have been attributed to multiple reasons by authorities.
Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody claimed that outage was caused by a monkey clashing with a Panadura grid substation.
The Ceylon Electricity Board claimed the outage was caused by an electricity supply management issue that resulted all three generators at the Lakvijaya Power Plant in Norochcholai to become inoperative.
