President Ranil Wickremesinghe have has focused attention on debt restructuring and economic reforms during talks with the Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristelina Georgieva during a meeting that took place yesterday (September 20), alongside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the President’s Media Unit (PMD).
A team from the IMF is in Colombo at present to proceed with the first review of the programme.
In the meantime, a key meeting with Paris Club official creditors is scheduled to take place this month, State Minister for Finance Shehan Semasinghe told a business forum at the beginning of this month.
