It will take about three years to witness the successful outcome following the implementation of the anti-corruption law, President Ranil Wickremesinghe told the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power, the President's Media Division said.
A discussion was held between President Wickremesinghe and Ms. Power in New York.
The President has expressed his appreciation for the support extended by USAID to Sri Lanka during the financial crisis and briefed her on the enactment of the anti-corruption legislation.
President Wickremesinghe informed Ms. Power that the Anti Corruption Commission is currently recruiting staff and providing formal training.
He said an additional year will be needed to see the outcome of the anti-corruption law adoption and about two years to see the successful implementation.
