Investigations have commenced into a fire that swept through a shop in Kadawatha town last night (23).
Police Media Unit said the fire had started on the top floor of the three-storey building where the shop is located. The fire was eventually doused with the assistance of the Colombo and Gampaha Municipal Fire Brigades.
There were no casualties due to the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Officials from the Government Analyst's Department, the Ceylon Electricity Board and Police Scene of Crime Officers have all been called to the scene. Kadawatha Police are conducting further investigations.
