Rain expected today
The Meteorology Department forecasts that showers or thundershowers will occur at most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m.
According to the Department , heavy falls about 100 mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-central and North-western provinces.Apart from that showers may occur in Western and Southern coastal areas in the morning too.
The Meteorology Department requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
