Cabinet has approved the appointment of Commodore (retired) M.B.N.A. Premaratne of the Sri Lanka Navy, as the new Commissioner General of Excise.
He will replace U.L. Udaya Kumara Perera, special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Inland Revenue Service, who is due to retire from public service on 10-07-2025.
The Cabinet proposal to make the new appointment was presented by the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development.
