A parcel containing over a kilograme of hashish, with an estimated value of about Rs.16.47 million was detected by Customs officers at the Orugodawatte container terminal, said Customs media spokesman Seevali Arukgoda said.
He said the parcel from Belgium had a receiver address in Wennappuwa. However, customs officers have found that it is a false address and no arrests have been made, Mr. Arukgoda said.
He said the stocks of cannabis were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau(PNB) for futher inquiry.
