The Election Commission informed the Parliament that S.C Muthukumarana has been appointed to the Parliament seat vacant following the resignation of Uddika Premaratne.
Mr Premaratna has informed the Speaker that he is resigning from Parliament as he was “unsatisfied with the political situation and he could not achieve his personal political dreams and goals a reality due to that”.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
