Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Chairman Reginald Cooray has resigned from his post. He has handed over his letter of resignation to the President, official sources said. Mr. Cooray was appointed as the chairman of the SLRC in May 2021.
Mr. Cooray who crossed over to the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) during the 2019 presidential election has served as a member of parliament, deputy minister, Minister of Mass Media, Chief Minister of the Western Province, Deputy Minister of Justice, Minister of Minor Export Crop Promotion, Minister of Aviation and Chairman of the Gem and Jewellery Authority as well as the Governor of the Northern Province.
