Sajith Premadasa named Opposition Leader

News

Speaker Ashoka Ranwala announced a short while ago that he formally recognises Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader Sajith Premadasa as the Leader of the Opposition in the Tenth Parliament.

Mr Premadasa also functioned as the Opposition Leader in the previous Parliament. Mr Premadasa was elected to Parliament from the Colombo district and his SJB, which won 40 seats, is the largest single opposition party in the new Parliament.
