Sajith Premadasa unveils manifesto focusing on democracy, security & anti-corruption

Samagi Jana Balawegaya’s presidential candidate , Sajith Premadasa, presented his election manifesto with a strong focus on strengthening democracy, reconciliation, and ensuring national security.

He presented the manifesto to the Chief Prelates of the Asgiriya and Malwathu Chapters earlier this afternoon.

Mr. Premadasa’s presidential election manifesto is scheduled to be unveiled to the business community and the public on September 4.

He emphasized that this manifesto is not just a set of promises but a comprehensive plan for the next five years, with immediate implementation on key projects aimed at uplifting the nation.

Among the core areas of focus in Mr. Premadasa’s manifesto are foreign affairs and the strengthening of commercial alliances, designed to position Sri Lanka as a robust player in the global market. He also highlighted the need for stringent anti-corruption laws and a relentless fight against the drug menace, which he identified as critical to ensuring law and order in the country.

The manifesto also outlines sustainable environmental practices, which are crucial to preserving Sri Lanka’s natural resources for future generations. Mr. Premadasa’s plan promises to integrate these practices into national policies, ensuring a balance between development and environmental conservation.

In his manifesto, Mr. Premadasa outlines a vision for building a resilient economy, empowering every citizen, enhancing government services, protecting the quality of life, and safeguarding the nation.

In addition to these priorities, the manifesto commits to enhancing national security measures, reinforcing law and order, and promoting reconciliation among all communities in Sri Lanka. 

Mr. Premadasa underscored that his approach to governance would focus on transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, aiming to unite the nation and foster a peaceful and prosperous future.
