A search for a youth who went missing at the mini-world’s end at Pitamaruwa in Madulsima resumed today (8) morning, Police said.
Dinura Wijesundara who works as a provincial journalist as well as a graphic artist of Sirasa TV had gone missing in the early hours of Sunday after travelling to the location with a group of doctors.
According to his colleagues they had camped in the site and due to heavy rains they had got back to the respective vehicles in the early hours of Sunday. They had assumed that he was in one of the vehicles, but later realized that he was missing.
The search was launched on Sunday with the Army, STF and villagers, but there was no trace until evening. Due to the heavy mist they had called off the search with plans to resume it on Monday.
The missing person is a resident of the Kalutara area.
Madulsima is a village situated in the Uva province of Sri Lanka. It is a picturesque village with mountains popular for hiking and camping. One such popular attraction is the Madulsima Mini World’s End which is a famous hiking spot of the area.
