Security around Catholic and Christian churches leading up to Easter Sunday celebrations has been stepped up.
Under a special security programme instructed by the Inspector-General of Police, churches around the country were being guarded by the police and army since Friday..
Armed forces backed by the police have been deployed around the churches while army bike squads too were patrolling the area.
As a precaution most churches have moved the usual car parks to nearby locations while the churches have also deployed volunteers to keep watch.
