Seven persons who were using drone cameras to capture footage around the Victoria dam in Teldenniya have been arrested by the Army, Police said today.
They were part of a group who were from Weligama and Dehiwala on trip to the area, but had ignored warnings by the army on guard not to use the drones in the area.
Police claimed that the arrest was made as they did not have permission to use drones in the area which is considered a high security zone.
Their camera equipment too has been seized by the Police.
The suspects have been handed over to the Theldeniya police.
