Severe lightning expected today
The Meteorology Department issued an advisory for severe lightning for today.
The Department said thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in Central, Uva, Eastern, Northern, North-central and provinces and in Hambantota district.
They general public to be aware of temporary localized strong
Winds during thundershowers, and take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
