Several places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Western Provinces along with Galle and Matara Districts will see showers or thundershowers today (24), according to the Department of Meteorology.
Besides, several spells of showers are due at certain areas in Northern Province and in Trincomalee District, a Duty Meteorologist of the Met. Department said.
In the meantime, showers or thundershowers are expected over many parts in the marine areas off shores extending from Mannar to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
Winds will strike North-easterly or inconstant in direction at 20-30 KMPH.
The sea zones surrounding the island are expected to tone down although strong gusts of wind and turbulent waters are foreseen during thundershowers transiently.
