Six suspects have been for allegedly forcing an individual to transfer Rs.1 million from his bank account to the suspects after luring him in the guise of offering massage services.
After forcing the victim to transfer Rs. 1 million from his bank account to them, the suspects had also allegedly robbed the victim of Rs. 15, 000 he had in his purse.
The Bambalapitiya Police commenced investigations based on the complaint lodged with them and initially arrested a couple along with the three-wheeler they had allegedly used to commit the crime.
The couple are residents of Piliyandala. The male is 44 years of age while the female is 54 years of age. Based on their statements, police arrested a further four male suspects in connection with the crime. They are aged 19, 21, 22 and 23 years and are residents of Ratmalana and Mount Lavinia.
Bambalapitiya Police are investigating.
