Sub Inspector nabbed for soliciting sexual bribe
A Police officer attached to the Kalmunai Police station has been arrested by the Bribery Commission for trying secure a sexual bribe from a woman who was facing a court case.
The officer, a Sub Inspect, was arrested at a hotel in Kalmunai while h was attempting to take the solicited sexual bribe today.
The bribe had been sought inorder to provide a favourbable report to a woman who had been told to report to police every week and wanted to extend the period to one month.
The Bribery Commission said the Acase was pending at the Kalmunai Courts against a woman residing in the Varipathanumchenai area (the complainant) and was due to be taken up for hearing today.
The suspect has solicited a sexual bribe from her for submitting an additional report to the courts favouring the complainant and for doing the needful to extend the court order of weekly signing at the Police Station given to her to a period of every month.
