Teacher trade unions have called their members to keep away from duties today until a favourable response is received for their demands.
The call came as all public sector employees including the teachers were told to report to work from today (2).
However, trade unions said that since the government had promised to take up their demands on the salary issue at the cabinet due to meet today the members should await a response based on the cabinet decision.
