Three persons were arrested on separate occasions for possession of illegal substances.
On an investigation carried out by the STF located in Jaffna, a 70 year old man was arrested last afternoon for transporting ICE (Crystal meth) in a van near the old post office.
The substance weighed one kilo and 40 grams.
The suspect was handed over to the Jaffna police for further investigation.
On a raid carried out by the Crime Division of the Mount Lavinia Police last evening in Dharmapala Mawatha in Mount Lavinia, an individual was arrested for the possession of 10 grams and 200 milligrams of heroin.
The suspect aged 39 is a resident of Dehiwala, and further investigations are underway.
Another raid carried out by the Ragam Police in Kapuwa Wewa resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old suspect of Ragama for the possession of 785 liters of Goda last evening.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Ragama police.
