Three suspects have been arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau's (PNB) unit at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in connection with an attempt to smuggle in 270 grams of 'Kush' narcotics into the country.
Police Media Unit said the arrests were made following a tip-off received by the PNB's airport unit. Acting on the tip-off, officers arrested a woman who attempted to smuggle the drugs to the country at the BIA's Arrivals Terminal. Another female suspect and a male suspect were arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the first female suspect to smuggle the 'Kush' narcotics into the country.
The arrested female suspects are aged 33 and 42 years and are residents of Angoda and Colombo 12. The male suspect is a 27-year-old resident of Colombo 15.
