Former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa, vacated  his official residences based on the newly passed "Presidents' Entitlements (Repeal) he returned to his private residence at the ‘Carlton House’ in Hambantota.

Opposition protest forces parliament adjournment over no-confidence motion

Parliament was adjourned for 10 minutes after opposition MPs staged a protest in parliament against Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne’s ruling that a No-Confidence Motion against Deputy Defence Minister Aruna Jayasekara was not constitutionally valid.
