FUTA meets with the President regarding University issues
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and academics of the Federation of University Teachers’ Unions (FUTA) met to discuss the issues that have arisen in the university system and the challenges that lecturers have had to face due to the delays in university degree programs and the inability to complete them on time due to various reasons in the past at the Presidential Secretariat.

Landslide cancelled train journeys
Eighteen train journeys were cancelled by the Department of Railways because of a landslide along the Upcountry Main Railway Line. Also, four train journeys from Kandy and Matale to Colombo Fort and Matara, scheduled for tomorrow morning, have been cancelled.
