Sri Lanka has recorded 866,744 tourist arrivals up to now in 2023, as reported by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
The SLTDA further said, the total number of tourist arrivals for the first 20 days of August was at 98,831.
Most of the tourists who arrived since January were reported to be Indian nationalities whilst scores of British and Chinese nationalities visiting the country were also noted.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
