The Railway Control Room official said that railway services of the coastal line as well as the upcountry line got disrupted today.
They added that service at the costal line between Colpetty and Slave Island got disrupted due to a broken bridge.
They also added that a landslide occurred at Ohiya, Idalgashinna area disrupted upcountry train operations during morning hours. It also resulted as the train driven to Badulla from Colombo was forced to be halted at Ohiya Railway station.
However a senior official said the upcountry railway line has been restored and train transportation has resumed.
