Two CMC top officials removed from vaccination programme

The Colombo Municipal Council's (CMC) Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni and the City Epidemiologist Dr. Dinuka Guruge have allegedly been removed by the Municipal Commissioner Roshini Dissanayake from overseeing the current vaccination programme in the city using the Sinopharm vaccine, TimesOnline learns.

This has been carried out through a circular issued on May 11. The officials concerned have brought this to the notice of Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake and the CMC council. It is unclear as to the dispute between the Municipal Commissioner and these medical officials.
