(UPDATED) -Two labourers who got into a gully network in Hettiyawatta, Kotahena died after they reportedly inhailed a toxic gas today afternoon, Police said.
They were attached to the Colombo Municipal Council.
The two persons who died were of 28 and 38 years.
A third worker who tried to help the two persons was also was hospitalised.
Police said the two workers were cleaning up the network when the incident occurred. They were trapped in the gully and later pulled out by fellow workers.
