Two persons from Jaffna were taken into custody by Terrorism Investigation Department (TID) today for promoting Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) through a wesbite and a Youtube channel, police said.
Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said following investigations, two individuals- a 35 year old female and 36 year old male who were running a website called Tube Tamil were arrested today for promoting contents online glorifying LTTE.
An office belonging to the website in Navalar road, Jaffna was also searched by TID. At least five laptops, five desktop computers and other resources were also seized by the TID.
According to the police, the duo are detained under provisions of PTA and to be questioned at TID Headquarters in Colombo.
