The bodies of two out of four youths who were bathing in the Kelani River near the Mapitigama Bridge in Navagamuwa were found today (2) by Navy divers, Navagamuwa Police said.
It is alleged that one of the deceased had passed an interview for a job and thrown a party with liquor on the banks of the Kelani River near the Mapitigama Bridge to three of his friends to celebrate the occasion.
Police said initial inquiries have revealed that the youth had been consuming liquor while bathing in the river and two of them, 27- and 19-years old, had drowned while the other two had fallen asleep on the river bank.
