Two detainees undergoing rehabilitation in the Weerawila Open Air Prison Camp had escaped yesterday, said prison officials.
The detainees were identified as a 27-year-old from Kolonnawa and a 29-year-old residing in Kelaniya.
The Kolonnawa resident had been sentenced to eight months in prison for the possession of heroin, and The Kelaniya resident was sentenced to six months imprisonment for the possession of the drug ICE by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
