A contract for “Asia Pacific - Sri Lanka climate change mitigation adaption and resilience coordinator services for forest service”has been terminated by the newly established US Department for Government Efficiency (DOGE).
DOGE announced that this was among ‘199 wasteful contracts saving $250mm’,that were being terminated.
The Department led by Elon Musk has terminated many projects since President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.
The details were made available on the DOGE official X handle.
Fire fighters struggled to reach the 35th floor of the Krish building in Colombo Fort to control a fire that brokeout there. A spokesman for Fire Birgade said they faced an issue in controlling the fire due to the height.
