An underworld gangster wanted for a murder was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport today, after returning from Dubai.
Shridharan Nirjan alias Tinker had fled to Dubai was wanted for a murder committed near the Madampitiya cemetery in October last year.
The 36-year-old suspect is a resident of Grandpass and was a close associate of Kochchikade Shiran – a drug dealer.
He is also wanted for supplying a weapon to carry out a murder that took place on August 19, 2025 in Peliyagoda.
The suspect is due to be produced in courts by the CID.
A short while later, the official car of the Commander of the Navy, bearing plate NAHA 5006, departed from Navy House, Longdon Place, Colombo 7.
