Updated voter register figures released by EC
The Election Commission has released the details of the latest voter registration figures and the number of members to be elected to parliament in each of the districts.
Some of the voters register details are Colombo District 1,749,900 voters (19 members), Gampaha District voters 1,833,604 (18 members), Kalutara District voters 999,244 (10 Members) Kandy District voters 1,168,679 (12 members) Matale District voters 421,855 (5 members), Nuawara Eliya District voters 592,482 (8members), Galle District voters 890, 486 (9 members) Matara District voters 677,405 (7 members), Hamabantota District Voters 510,871 (7 members) Jaffna District voters 584,881 ( 7 members). Wanni District Voters 300,747 (06 members)

The Minister of Power, Kumara Jayakody, stated that in the future, internationally funded projects, such as power projects, will only be carried out through government-to-government (G2G) agreements and competitive procurement.
