Prices of vegetables are decreasing, market sources said.
Unfavorable weather along with contributing factors such as fuel and transport cost resulted in vegetable prices escalating to unprecedented levels.
However, it is currently in the process of reducing although not to previous levels.
The wholesale price list of the Peliyagoda market read that a kilo of carrot is sold for 800 rupees, beans for 700 rupees, capsicum and green chilies for 800 rupees and tomatoes for 800 rupees a kilo.
Notably, ginger prices have risen to 1300 rupees a kilo.
