Showers or thundershowers are most likely to be experienced in parts of Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern, North-western and North-central provinces and at a few places in the island during the day and night, says the Department of Meteorology.
In the meantime, the general public is advised to take adequate preventative measures to ensure safety of themselves from damages within reach triggered by strong gusts and lightning during thundershowers.
The sea areas of the coast extending from Kankesanthurai to Galle via Mannar, Puttalam and Colombo are presumably to crop up showers or thundershowers at night.
Winds will be south-easterly to south-westerly and may strike at 20-30 KMPH.
The maritime zones around the island will remain moderate although temporary strong and very turbulent waters may turn up during thundershowers transiently.
