The Attorney General (AG) has called for an immediate report on the three groups which have been proscribed in the country.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) have been instructed to conduct further investigations on these groups, the AG's co-ordinating officer said.
The proscribed groups are National Thowheed Jamath (NTH), Jama’athe Milla’athe Ibrahim (JMI), and Willayath As Seylani.
State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, the AG's co-ordinating officer said that copies of the letter calling for immediate investigations has been sent to the Acting IGP, the CID's Senior DIG, and the President's Secretary.
