The hearing of the petition seeking to reduce the jail term for convicted drug dealer ‘Vele Suda’ was taken up before the Appeal Court today (Jan 30).
During today's hearing, Justices Deepali Wijesuriya and Achala Vengappulli before whom the appeal is being heard, announced that the case would be heard tomorrow.
Samantha Kumara alias ‘Vele Suda’ was subjected to a death sentence on October 14, 2015 after being found guilty over his involvement in the drug trade.
He was apprehended over the possession of heroin weighing just over seven grams.
