Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in an urgent release expressing his disapproval with today´s Appeal Court verdict has said they will file a case in the Supreme Court tomorrow morning.
Accordingly, Mr. Rajapaksa said they would challenge the Appellate court's verdict to bar him from holding office as Prime Minister and preventing the newly sworn Cabinet Ministers from functioning.
Mr. Rajapaksa said in the statement that it is the Supreme Court which is vested with the right to interpret the constitution and issue a final verdict in this regard.
The release urged the people to pledge their support towards him at this decisive moment in order to establish stability in the country and conduct an election in order to listen to the people's voice.
