Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who was arrested and remanded on charges of misappropriation of state funds, has been granted bail by the Colombo High Court.
Rajapaksa's case was taken up for hearing this morning (August 08). Rajapaksa was brought to the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court, a short while ago.
He was arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) on July 18 regarding the alleged supply of building materials to district councils when he was the minister of Economic Development.
