Bus drivers plying along route number 170 between Athurugiriya and Pettah have launched a strike today (Dec 23).
The strike was launched based on claims that a policeman had assaulted a bus driver following an argument in Rajagiriya recently.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
