The cabinet has agreed to prescribe the minimum qualification to study medicine in a Lankan university as two credit passes and one simple pass at the GCE (A/L) exam in one sitting for subjects Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
These standards were approved by the Medical Council and University Grants Commission. It was also decided to gazette the above as regulations under the Medical Ordinance.
