The case filed against the misappropriating of funds worth Rs 5 million of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been fixed for further hearing on November 26.
Former SEC Chairman Nalaka Godahewa, former SEC Deputy Director Dhammika Perera, and former sports director of the Tharunayata Hetak movement Ronnie Ibrahim have been named as the accused in the case.
They have been charged under the Public Property Act.
The Attorney General's Department prosecuting the case, said the suspects had misused funds disbursed by the SEC for a programme of the Tharunayata Hetak movement, by depositing it into an account of Premium Sports Ltd.
The case is being heard before High Court judge Shashi Mahendran.
