Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma today (Nov 26) said a circular would be issued to limit school events to one hour with the exception being sports events.
He made these remarks after visiting his alma mater Radampala Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya this morning.
In his speech, Mr. Alahapperuma stressed the need to train teachers and upgrade the schooling system to match the needs of the 21st century.
The minister also pointed out that 15,000 state sector teachers had not undergone training.
